Floral design class is fun but cut flowers are expensive! Having a consistent schedule of flower arrangement labs can be challenging with the rise of flower expenses. By growing our own flowers in our school greenhouse we will not only be able to increase the amount of flower arrangements that we can make at school, but students will get to experience firsthand each step of cut flower farming. From planting the seeds, caring for them, harvesting them, and then eventually turning those flowers into an arrangement that they can take home with them! It is my hope that with this project I will be able to enhance my students learning of the floriculture industry while ensuring that they get multiple opportunities to use their floral design skills to create multiple arrangements.
