Students are stressed out and struggling with their social and emotional health. Often, to distract themselves and to cope with daily trials, students pick up their phones and/or access other forms of technology to escape. We know this is not a healthy way for most people to cope. Teaching students to crochet with the yarn and crochet hooks sets offers them a creative and productive outlet and skill they can use throughout their lives. Crocheting is a great stress reducer, positive use of downtime, and a possible source of income such as selling handmade hats, blankets, and dishcloths. In addition, crocheting is extremely fun and innovative.
