My students are all newcomer and refugee students in the earliest stages of language and culture learning. As they acclimate to the US and have their first experience in a US classroom, I want to create a warm, welcoming environment that takes into consideration where they have been, and where they are heading. My classroom already contains many individualized elements that I have purchased on my own, but I hope to add flexible seating, fidget chair bands, charging stations for each table, and additional decor that lets them know they are welcome and loved.
