By using these VR headsets in my classroom, history will come alive as my students will be able to travel virtually to many historical sites. Students will be able to actually be at a desolate island in the Bahamas as they imagine Christopher Columbus reaching landfall. They will be able to imagine the snow and the ice as they sit at the edge of the Delaware River imagining George Washington and his weary band of soldiers embarking on their journey to surprise attack the Hessians. There are so many opportunities for students to actually go virtually to these sites, making history jump off the textbook page and actually go to these destinations.
