My students will use these robots to complete various coding and mathematical exercises within my classroom. They will be able to apply real-life mathematical situations using coding or mathematical practices of Rate of Speed, Time, and Distance. The actual building of the robotics will demonstrate perseverance, and the ability to achieve an end result that will be applicable to my math classes as well as my computer programming classes. I have requested these robotics tools: HEXBUG, Makeblock, and Snap Circuits. The students will build and test the robots, using them in exploratory mathematical practices, and will be introduced to the coding world of programming.
