These materials will help my students' learning because they will encourage independent reading in the classroom and at home. We read for the first ten minutes of class every day and I want to give them resources to use in the classroom. I am a first-year teacher and one of my goals as an English teacher is to give my students diverse and engaging books for them to enjoy in the classroom; in short build a reader generation. The only way to improve our reading skills is by reading and the majority of my students come from homes where reading is not celebrated, so I want to give them that celebration and chance to read in my classroom.
