I am requesting headphones, bluetooth speaker, phone chargers, scissors and more. All students will use these resources to get an opportunity to learn music theory as it relates to math. Students will use math to write music and adjust to instruments using math. For example, they will cut and paste proper measure changes my fractional form to match a saxophone to a trumpet. Also, in Kahoot! groupings, students will use the chargers to play competitive matching games with student iPhones. With the headphones and bluetooth speaker students will listen to the difference in beats, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and whole. They will play tracks to play the beat, multiplying and subdividing note values so students can hear when they get it right. Team games can help as well, with teams of students subdividing the notes at different levels. This will enhance the environment in the classroom to a world they've never heard before.
