As a K-2 math instructor, helping students to realize how often we use math is very important. I plan to use the carpet and Calendar together daily to extend math facts based on the day of the year shown on the calendar. Daily working with students teaching key math operations that are essential building blocks. Such as 10 more or 10 less, Odd or even numbers, 1 more or 1 less, comparing numbers, counting, and base 10 blocks are just to name a few extensions of simple calendar math. I am beyond excited to help the students learn and grow.
