These classroom essentials will make an incredible difference for my students who have an extremely hard time sitting in their seats to learn. Because some of many of my students are not neurotypical, they are even more wiggly than most 1st graders. Having "wobble" chairs that allow them to twist, lean, and wiggle while seated in front of their work will drastically improve their ability to focus. When I first stepped into this classroom in December, it had almost none of the classroom essentials in it. My students didn't have a carpet, reading nook, calendar, word wall, chromebook organizer, etc. These students deserve to feel loved, included, and taken care of in their learning environment. Many of these students don't like learning because they don't think that they are good at it. I want to create a learning environment that shows them how special they are and how fun learning can be.
