Some of our scholars are struggling with basic number and alphabet skills. We are hands on learners that struggle with writing due to motor skills obstacles. It sometimes takes over a year or even three to master basic skills. We love to monkey around, therefore, counting and alphabet monkeys would be a tremendous asset to use to create number lines, addition, subtraction, simply placing in order, adding, and ordinal numbers. Alphabet monkeys would pair well with our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees to math with the uppercase letters, spell our names, and work on letter sounds. We would also appreciate some organization bins for our centers. We also LOVE playdough and could utilize this to stamp out our vocabular and names as simply holding a pencil and composing words can be extremely difficult for some of us.
