As seen in the list, my students need books for the (traveling) classroom library. My students cherish their independent reading time and love diving into a good book. I have chosen a selection of popular young adult novels and graphic novels for my students who don't love wordy books. I added notebooks and pens for my low-income students who often do not have enough supplies for their seven or eight classes and have to combine multiple subjects in one. With students having the supplies they need for a successful learning experience, they will be more apt to coming to class prepared and ready to learn. Maslow's hierarchy of needs says students cannot reach self actualization and fulfillment without basic necessities.
