The most influential conversations about our future do not take place on the internet, in boardrooms, or courtrooms- they take place right on the carpets of thousands of classrooms everywhere. A carpet is truly the heart and soul of the classroom. It’s a place to talk about ideas, discuss our similarities , talk through our differences, and cultivate a love for learning that will last a life time. My student’s have not had the privilege of having a classroom carpet that is new. We had an old carpet before- but it was very dirty and unsanitary so it had to be thrown out. We make due with chairs and sitting in the floor- but my students truly deserve to experience the sense of togetherness a classroom carpet brings. Classroom carpets are not cheap, but with your help I know we can make it happen for 42 of the most maxing 1st graders you could ever meet!
