As a first-year teacher, I have a passion for making learning fun. My students are creative and hands-on learners. After seeing the implementation of STEM learning in classrooms around the world, I have dreamed of having my very own STEM bins that are accessible to the students in my classroom. STEM is an acronym in education that stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. However, it extends well beyond these fields. Being at a school where 75% of students come from low-income households, many of the students don't have access to STEM toys like legos and other manipulatives. Not only do STEM toys enhance learning, but they help develop and reinforce social and emotional learning.
