A major focus at our school is helping to rebuild students' reading abilities since the pandemic. Many of them are especially needing extra support in their reading comprehension and fluency. The good news is that there is an abundance of non-fiction comics and graphic novels that appeal to our students, many of which love all things Anime and graphic novels! Our class absolutely LOVED Book One of John Lewis's March. It was engaging, but also didn't intimidate them, which made for a heightened sense of success when being able to complete the book. My hope is to be able to eventually introduce the second installment to them as soon as possible!
