This school year my grade level decided to implement the Ron Clark Academy House System. By using this system we have been able to motivate our students to improve their test scores, work on their character, and learn to be apart of a team. Each six weeks we tally up the points from the students' hard work to see which House has won. The House in first place gets to experience a special incentive. For our 4th incentive this year, the top House will win a trip to our local library with a special guest reader. A local illustrator has offered to read her most recent book to our students. She will speak with our students about the process of writing and illustrating a book. We would love for our students to be able to take a book about illustrators home with them to inspire them to become future writers or illustrators!
