This project will allow my students to have a work space to work independently and in groups. It will also allow me to move more freely in my wheelchair so that it does not interfere with their seating arrangements. I have always wanted to provide my students and I with the accessibility to have flexible seating and flexible movement for engaged learning. Flexible seating will allow a more accommodating and comfortable space to work collaboratively with everyone in the classroom to help expand their learning experience. Having better seating arrangements will allow my students to work together through peer discussions and hands on group activities during reading, math, science, and social studies. I will also be able to move around the classroom easily to monitor students learning and also be engaged within their discussions. Being able to provide my students a space to learn in a flexible way, will also allow my students to be in a comfortable setting to have a mindset that allows for mistakes, teamwork, and reasoning.
