When I was in the 3rd grade, I never wanted to eat breakfast. My stomach would start hurting before lunch and my teacher would always give me a few saltine crackers. She is one of the main people that inspired me to become a teacher myself. One thing I always have for my students are snacks. I have one parent this year that has sent classroom snacks. With the majority of my students coming from low income families, they just don't have the resources to send the extra items. I will make sure to always have snack for my students but it does get expensive so the donations would greatly be appreciated by myself and my students. We all know how uncomfortable it is to have a hungry tummy and it is even harder on a second grade student that is struggling to make it to lunch. We can all focus better when our stomach isn't growling.
