When my students are listening to stories being read aloud they are developing those comprehension skills. I always want students to get excited when reading stories. By having a listening center it will make them excited and eager to learn more. This will help them build on comprehension skills, learn vocabulary, and also recall important events. They will have the ability to choose the books they want to listen to and remain engaged and on task. My classroom library is a place my students often enjoy and want a story to be read to them. This will be a great resource tool for independent learning.
