This is my first year as a teacher, and I am blessed to teach a group of second graders ready to grow academically day by day. As a new teacher, I do not have the resources to provide the mixed environment they require this school year. My students will need class meetings in person and at home. That each child can use headphones would help a lot in their development. Additionally, it enables students to better focus on the test environments, listening and speaking, and attenuate surrounding noise and distractions to help them focus. Headphones will help me further assist students who require additional attention or create a curriculum that allows them to learn at their own pace. Second grade is a year of academic learning and skills that will help in later years. Having each student have a headphone will help instill a sense of ownership. Having their device, headphones for the school year helps them develop a sense of responsibility.
