These seeds, row cover, shovels, and other gardening tools and supplies will have an immeasurable impact that will be made on both the Ecology Club curriculum that I teach and the life skills that my students will learn. Students will be able to be actively engaged in the hands on gardening process. Usually, we have so few tools that students have to do another activity until it is their turn. These tools and supplies will increase engagement and the science behind gardening and building a small self-sustainable space will come to life. Students will learn first hand knowledge of composting, growing herbs, vegetables, and the importance of planting seeds in the optimal season in the desert. Inevitably, learning how to support food growing will become lessons that will stick with the students their whole life.
