Milner Middle School students are learning to be responsible and prepared for each of their classes. Many of our students families are not able to afford basic school materials due to their own financial hardships. In may cases, these materials are provided out of the pockets of their teachers or community donations. Consistency is the key to success in middle school. Students will be able to rely on having materials at their fingertips no matter what classroom they enter. They will know that they will always have the appropriate materials to be successful whether they can afford their own materials or not. The pencil cases will be placed in each classroom and numbered for students under the front whiteboard. They will hold various classroom materials that may be needed at any time (pencils, pens, whiteboard markers and eraser, glue sticks, etc). As the students need the materials, they will grab a numbered pencil case that matches the number on their desk and use the materials needed throughout the lesson. At the end of the period, students will return all the items back to the pencil case and hang it back up under the whiteboard. Each classroom will be setup the same way for consistency.
