These books will help me to build a social-emotional library for my students. These books will ensure that every student, no matter the problem or feeling they are facing, will see themselves reflected. These books will help my students to know they are not alone. Often, when facing a difficult problem or feeling, children are better able to talk about it when it is externalized. Books are incredible tools to do just this. This library will increase my capacity to teach lessons and to connect with students on themes like self-regulation, resiliency, friendship, kindness, and trauma. When the mental and emotional health of students is supported, students are able to focus on their learning and make stronger academic gains.
