I am a teacher at an elementary school in Springfield, MA. I have directed many school plays throughout my 25-year career as a teacher. I recognized a need for an after-school club at this school because the children have very limited opportunity for extra curriculum programs. I wrote “Bring Back the Joy to the Winter Wonderland” which is the play we will be preforming. I wrote this play because it meets the needs of our drama club; it is a one act play with two scenes and can accommodate many actors. I received an overwhelming amount of interest, and therefore, I had to limit the club to only the 5th. graders. I enrolled 18 fifth graders into the Drama Club. The children look forward to coming to the club and always come to the group with smiles and enthusiasm. It is a pleasure to direct this group of children. The items in my cart will help make the play a success. The winter backdrop and cotton snow will create the winter setting needed to set the scene. We also need white shirts, pants, sweatshirts, and winter hats for the costumes. The costumes will add to the believability of the play. Please consider donating and making our winter wonderland a reality.
