Our school serves a wonderful, ethnically diverse population of students. We have families from all over the world who speak all different languages. Our diversity is what makes us such a strong community of learners. My students love graphic novels but don't often see themselves (or their culture) represented in the graphic novels available to us. I would love to give them the gift of graphic novels for to us read that have characters that better reflect the diversity in our school and in our larger community. Representation matters and I want my students to see characters who look like them doing great things!
