The rainboots and coveralls I am requesting for my PreK students will enable them to experience the outdoors even in wet weather. Research supports the benefits of outdoor learning experiences for all ages and especially our young children who are fascinated by all the natural discoveries the outdoors provides. What are the benefits of outdoor play? It invites children to learn science. ... It creates opportunities for social interaction and collaboration. ... It promotes physical health. ... It invites new contexts for learning. ... It promotes better sleep. ... It gives children a chance to take appropriate risks... It helps combat childhood obesity.. It improves eyesight... The boots and coveralls will keep our young people warm and dry as they bake mud pies in the Mud Kitchen we will be building in the New Year. They will keep their feet dry when they splash in a puddle they found after an evening of rain, or one they created themselves using buckets and measuring cups. The boots and coveralls will be used often and with great enthusiasm!
