For our project we decided to vote as a class on which books we wanted to ask for. My 1st graders are eager learners and are exceptional when it comes to wanting to read and gain more knowledge. My students wanted books that not only taught them about important figures in African American History, but also books that grabbed their attention. For example, my girls chose a book about Simone the gymnast. She is a huge role model for the girls in my class because she made history this year. With our TPT gift cards my students will be able to have inclusive and informational crafts, worksheets, and more!!
