My students' learning time competes with their body's need for good food. It is hard to learn when your basic needs are not met. I want my students to know that when they come to school, they have a snack waiting for them. We care about them more than just academically and recognize that something as simple as food can make a real difference in their learning. This may be just what they need to nudge them to come to class instead of leaving school. Our students find success as we work together, like a family, to give our students a sense of belonging, supportive teachers and a purposeful classroom experience that prepares them for a bright and hopeful future.

About my class
