During the COVID lockdowns, artmaking was a common pastime. However, access to certain materials was difficult. Students and teachers needed to be creative with the materials used to make art. Back in the classroom, kids typically have access to paper and pencils to make art, but access to various other mediums is still difficult to obtain. In the age of phones and internet, digital art is among the most widely viewed form of art. Students was to make art that is relevant to their lives. Some of my students wish to learn how to make art like the professionals do, without being limited to the small "canvas" of their phone screens. Giving students access to a digital drawing tablet will allow them to partake in the contemporary digital art world.
