Students will have access to graphing and scientific calculators for rigorous math classes. Many students currently do not have access to these calculators, and so they cannot meet all of the standards in an upper level math course. These materials would provide equity so that students from lower-income families could still access the full content in an upper level math course. Here are two standards that require student access to a graphing calculator: Standard A-REI.C.9: Find the inverse of a matrix if it exists and use it to solve systems of linear equations (using technology for matrices of dimension 3x3 or greater.) Standard F-LE.A.4: For exponential models, express as a logarithm the solution abct=d where a, c, and d are numbers and the base b is 2, 10, or e; evaluate the logarithm using technology Here is one standard that requires student access to a scientific calculator: Standard G.SRT.8: Use trigonometric ratios and the Pythagorean Theorem to solve right triangles in applied problems (use technology to evaluate sin, cos, and tan)
