Housed on a little hill in Mott Haven (The South Bronx), PS 157 is known for its respectful and trusting tone. School leaders and teachers greet children as they arrive in the morning to start the day off right. PS 157 services students who live under the poverty line. Through this basketball program that they are embarking in, they receive discipline respect and a new outlook on life. The boys and girls who are playing in the 2021-2022 basketball season are working hard to achieve their basketball potential. Unfortunately due to the economical disadvantage that they have been placed in, they do not have the necessary finances to get the proper shoes. One small thing that would elevate their game is proper shoe attire. We all know the feeling of playing a sport without the correct equipment. Receiving basketball shoes will ensure their success and ultimately put a smile on their face, as well as increase their confidence as they improve their basketball skills.
