COVID has prevented all of my students from going to preschool. Many of them are struggling with concepts of sharing, fine motor skills, problem-solving skills, and fulfilling tasks that are community-based, rather than academic. In kinder, we are the ones teaching the kids "how to school" and all that entails. My project is based around development with Montessori inspirations. Many instructional aids I have all bought myself, but I created a project of what my kids are missing: learning through play. I have chosen items such as blocks and magnet tiles to encourage STEM exploration, sharing, and collaborative play. I chose paints and paint accessories because my students always love art and rarely get to explore their own creativity. I chose the lacing beds to help encourage fine motor skills to aid in the early childhood developmental tasks.
