Due to issues with feminine hygiene (and access to tampons and sanitary napkins) many of our students leave school early or come out of class, missing instruction. The Instructional Facilitator as well as other staff even keep extra pants in their offices because of how frequently our young women experience blood soaked pants. Most feminine hygiene products cannot be purchased with EBT/food stamps, which makes too many of our ladies to resort to using wads of toilet paper during their time of the month. This affects our young women's sense of self and comfort but actually affects their grades and learning as well. In this day and age access to feminine hygiene products within our country should not be an issue. We are not seeking to make money off of our students as we are 100% Free Lunch, hence why the dispenser we are requesting is free. Partners are willing to donate pads and tampons but we need a centralized place to have them for students to have access to.
