Our school is a four year comprehensive high school in a small town in Northern California. My students are bright, energetic, and inquisitive 9th through 12th grade geometry students. We have a very diverse population from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. Like many areas in California and the rest of the nation, we have been hit hard by the foreclosure epidemic and the economic downturn. Unfortunately many of my students do not have calculators and their parents can't really provide them with basic school supplies. We teachers do all we can, but with the financial crisis in our state our school budgets have been slashed.
