Th excitement and engagement increase drastically when students are experimenting with Science labs and activities. The concepts are more understandable for students when they can observe them through hands on activities. I have many students that have learning challenges and the ability to provide the lesson in a manner which helps them make connections to the content is rewarding. I love to hear when a student exclaim they :get it" now.
