Our school uses a wide variety of Internet based programs and applications throughout the day. Some of these programs are designed to fill holes in the education of students, some are designed to challenge them to go above their current level, and some provide digital books for reading and listening. Many of my students are easily distracted and need a quiet place to work. With these headphones and carrels, they will be able to work with minimal distractions. During COVID, many of our students fell further behind and need access to these programs to help them catch up to their peers. The headphones will help students access the curriculum and test questions. For example, my students who perform on grade level in math, but struggle with reading will be able to listen to the test questions and be successful in math. My students who are easily distracted will be able to continue to focus when others around him or her are moving around the classroom. Also, all my students will have the option of listening to digital books and hear fluent readers model for them.
