We are learning about Africa and its people. What better way to incorporate culture and math covertly into a class than with games. Mancala is a traditional African game that will expose the students to good sportsmanship, teamwork, math, and African culture. Learning should not be a drudge, it should be hands-on! Playing mancala lets them experience a different world. The game ignites their creativity, strategy, and imagination. What would children who played this game in Africa be like? How would their lives be different? Playing games like mancala can open the world.
