My students love to learn using hands on manipulatives and games to make learning fun. One of the big struggles that we work through is reading and writing simple words. Using fun and exciting letters helps the students connect to their learning better. We also work a lot on sight words and building those words helps the students be able to read and write them better. We need these manipulatives as well as containers to keep them in. These students deserve a chance to learn and they need help getting the tools to do so. We like to reduce paper usage, so things like whiteboards, markers, and playdoh really help us achieve that. Dice and cards help us with our math as they are easy and fun things to count. We also really could use a functional "U-Shaped" table along with stools to better learn in small groups. As a resource classroom, I only work with small groups of students at a time and it's really hard to help students reading when sitting at a table that is not shaped correctly.
