During the pandemic students were unable to fully experience a classroom community. Having high interest literature, for example, can be incorporated into leveled reading groups During these sessions, each student will have an opportunity to respond to questions about specific characters and their motivations. The students will be involved in discussion and are exposed to new ideas, places and characters. RL.3.3- Describe characters in a story (traits, motivations, feelings) and explain how their actions contribute to the sequence. Making connections and critical discourse are valuable skills needed to comprehend and appreciate good literature. I hope to continue to foster a love of both reading and learning while exposing my students to a world full of new and exciting possibilities.
