Band programs have been horribly impacted by COVID-19 due to concerns of spreading the virus. One way we can get students to continue participating in band while minimizing health concerns is to have them play percussion instruments so they can still wear a mask while performing. By adding more percussion instruments and accessories, we can add more students in a safe manner. Using these added instruments and accessories will help us have more students achieve the following music standard: MU:Pr6.1.HSI Perform with expression and technical accuracy in individual performances of a varied repertoire of music that includes melodies, repertoire pieces, and chordal accompaniments, demonstrating understanding of the audience and the context.

About my class
