Do you remember a time when you felt overly frustrated working on a task or project? I know that when I start to find myself losing focus or getting stuck I need a change or some time away to refocus my brain. Movement has been proven to help students focus and reduce stress during learning. Our classroom is a great group of kiddos and our curious minds see the wonders that are abundant in this world. One of the best times you can see our excitement and imagination come to life is during our reading and writing lesson. When I read an exciting sci-fi book I love to find a cozy place where I can immerse myself in the story. This is something I want my students to be able to do with a multitude of seating choices. Comfy reading spots and a variety of seating choices will help students find the best place for them to learn. By allowing students a choice to find a spot they feel safe and comfortable to learn helps with engagement and reduces stress. By using wobble stools students can get out their wiggles and stay focused longer on the lesson. Students can also find cozy spots around the room with different types of seating choices.
