The Cricut can really transform a classroom, inspire creativity, and make learning more engaging for our students. The creative possibilities with this machine are endless. It allows teachers to customize classroom spaces and learning materials in all kinds of fun and different ways. It can be used to design custom bulletin boards, personalize student supplies and materials, make class shirts, organize bins, enhance student portfolios, make anchor charts, decorate my classroom, create learning tools, and personalize holiday gifts just to name a few! The impact of COVID-19 on student learning and student well-being has been significant and has some students disengaged in school. Creating a learning environment that promotes student achievement is important. Due to safety protocols, students are not able to share learning materials and we can no longer have parent volunteers in the classroom. Cricut allows teachers to personalize student learning materials and tools. Parent volunteers would often help with time consuming tasks like cutting learning materials. This cutting machine is a helpful tool that will make these classroom duties easier. The Cricut will also promote Nevada Academic Content Standards and fulfill the COVID-related learning needs of my class. This machine can be used to make learning boards to be used in any subject to make learning more engaging. They can be used to support individual instruction, whole group lesson, and small group learning. Math learning boards can be used to support essential first grade NVACS standards such as Math 1.NBT.B.2, Math 1.OA.A, Math 1.OA.B, and Math 1.OA.C. Ten-frames and place value learning boards are key tools for developing foundational math skills and number sense to meet the our standards in first grade. The Cricut will allow me to create learning materials that promote learning and engagement for my students that were impacted by the pandemic.
