These diverse picture books will help create a love for reading in my classroom. Adding new picture books to our classroom library creates an excitement for reading. My students love hearing me read. I use picture books not only to teach life lessons, but to teach content area standards. Having books about people in other cultures is important. Students should see themselves in books. These diverse picture books will create a more diverse classroom library. These books will be used to teach reading skills and writing skills, but also life-long lessons.
