The class was buzzing with excitement when the packages of paper came in! My students could not wait to dive into using the construction paper to integrate art into their learning! \r\n\r\nSince receiving the construction paper, we have used the paper to create 2D and 3D shapes during our shape unit, by creating 2D squirrels and snowflakes. We have also used the construction paper to enhance our illustrations in our writing to add a 3D effect and to use different media. The biggest way we have used the construction paper was during our Holidays around the world. Each day, students learned about a different country around the world and what holidays they celebrate. To immerse students in culture and build a deeper understanding of what the holidays felt/looked like, students each day did a craft or activity that went along with the holiday. Students used the construction paper to make wreaths, ornaments, Christmas cards, crowns, gingerbread houses, gingerbread people, etc. Students were then able to take their creations home with them to enjoy during the holiday season. \r\n\r\nThe copy paper we received has also helped tremendously in allowing our class to use writing paper each day instead of a writing journal. Although the writing journal was nice in allowing their work to be in one place, it was very difficult for my students to write in the lines provided at their age and development. With the copy paper, we have been able to use a writing paper that is appropriate for my students' writing, as it gives them enough space to form their letters and stay within the lines. \r\n\r\nYour donations did not just provide our class with materials, but they sparked excitement, curiosity, and creativity in our classroom. Our class is excited about their learning and being able to add the element of art into our instruction each day. \r\n\r\nFrom all of us here, thank you for giving us a way to express ourselves.","fullyFundedDate":1760664975574,"projectUrl":"project/colorful-creations-for-kindergarten/9815067/","projectTitle":"Colorful Creations for Kindergarten!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10307731_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760279346415","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10307731"},{"teacherId":9647676,"projectId":9783609,"letterContent":"Your support will have an immediate and lasting impact on my preschoolers' learning and development. These resources will encourage meaningful conversations, cooperation, and problem-solving as students shop at a market, care for babies, and take on community helper roles.\r\nFor many of my students in our Title I, needs-based early learning program, this is their first experience in a classroom setting. The dramatic play center will offer a safe, welcoming environment where they can practice language skills, build social-emotional understanding, and develop independence in a way that feels natural and joyful.\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students will gain more than toys—they will gain opportunities to see themselves reflected in their learning, strengthen essential life skills, and build the confidence and curiosity needed for future success. These books have already brought a new spark of excitement into our music classroom and have helped my students make meaningful connections between stories, culture, and the world of sound.\r\n\r\nWe began using the books right away during our \"Musical Storytelling Week,\" where students listened to a read-aloud, discussed the musical concepts featured in the story, and then created short musical responses using classroom instruments. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of third graders make their own soundscape after reading a book about the symphony—they were so proud of how they brought the story to life through rhythm and creative instrument choices.\r\n\r\nWhen the books first arrived, the students were thrilled. Many crowded around the table pointing out familiar instruments or characters, while others eagerly asked if they could check out a book to take home. Their enthusiasm showed just how special it felt to have stories that blend literature and music in a way that reflects their own learning.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be using this new collection to build our \"Composer of the Month\" lessons. Students will read stories about different musicians and composers, then explore those styles in our classroom. These books will help deepen comprehension, spark critical thinking, and give students a richer understanding of how music connects to history, identity, and creativity.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly elevated the learning experience in our music room.
