This 12-week Trimester course is filled with projects and activities that will boost student critical thinking habits, improve collaborative participation, grow creativity and develop communication & self-assessment skills through creating and talking about art. All lessons incorporate the Elements of Art: Line, Texture, Shape, Form, Color, Space & Value and are aligned to the Visual and Performing Arts Standards. We will create the following projects and compositions: Beautiful Oops: Ink Blots (line, texture, & value) Communicating with Color: Tide Pools (analogous colors & abstract shapes) Two point Perspective: Chalk Buildings (depth, value, & detail) It’s a Process: Notan Paper Collage & Reductive Printmaking (space & value) Portraits: Tim Burton Self-Portraits (line & form) Research & Present: Famous Artists in History
