As a first year teacher, it has been so helpful to gain these materials for my classroom. Although some may not see them as essential, to me they are incredibly important to enhance and enrich the experience my students have in the classroom. For example, some of the materials that were on my project were items like dominos, magnet tiles, a ball cart, and rainbow bouncy balls. My students LOVED these. These were items that I wanted to make their time more fun during choice time. The students have so much fun building with the magnet tiles, and they are so creative which I think is incredibly important for their development. They love to show me what they are building and they always have a story behind it. \r\nIn addition, my students have also been obsessed with the dominos. A lot of students who would use their chromebooks during choice time have ditched the technology to use the dominos. What I love about these, is they teach my students persistence. I hear them groan every now and then because they accidentally knocked over the domino configuration they were working on, but they would quickly laugh it off and start over. Also, it enhanced their teamwork and collaboration skills as they all love working together to build one giant domino pattern. The excitement that they feel when the work is done, brings them and me so much happiness. \r\nFinally, all the other materials like the markers, organization boxes, kwik stix, glue sticks, etc., are all just needed materials that I didn't have. Again, as a first year teacher, I had to start from scratch with my classroom and I felt like there was only so much I could purchase out of pocket, so I am very grateful for those extra materials. \r\nThey will be used for future years to come, so thank you again.","fullyFundedDate":1746786354670,"projectUrl":"project/enrich-our-students-class-experience/9259053/","projectTitle":"Enrich Our Students' Class Experience!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kim","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9823759_orig.jpg?crop=3778,3778,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746493445820","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9823759"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_92961","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":798,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":10,"percentAsian":36,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":11,"gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"23.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.2,"schoolId":92961,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Vista Verde School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Vista Verde School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/irvine-unified-school-district/turtle-bridge-elementary-school/92961"}
