Switching up my students' lessons and activities makes a huge difference in their engagement which is why I need new supplies to continue assisting in their growth. My students work on a math program every week that is individualized to their specific learning ability which they need headphones for, however, a lot of my students cannot afford them so they aren't able to listen to their lessons. We do a lot of small group and cooperative learning activities (while wearing masks) which the anchor charts and post-it notes will be very helpful with. The whiteboards are essential as I like to create a lot of review learning games and activities that would run much more smoothly if I had whiteboards instead of relying solely on pencil and paper. I also have some higher-level students that tend to finish their work fast, and I don't want to give them even more work to do just because they are efficient workers. I also don't want them using the remaining 10-15 minutes of class on their phone or distracting other students who aren't done, which is why I am requesting some fun brain-teasing games.
I am my students' second math class of the day and I need help with continuing their buy-in as my lessons have become a bit redundant with the limited supplies I have been able to purchase for my classroom. We are about halfway through the school year and since this is going to be my first FULL year in person, I feel like I am already running out of ways to keep my lessons feeling "new".
