Having a class set of books will give my English Learners a chance for starting a book club. We can each hold a copy of the book and read together. We will focus on story elements, such as, characters, setting, and conflict. Our book club lessons will be informal and fun. Chapter by chapter we will read together. As we read, we will pause to stop and focus on new vocabulary. Vocabulary building is so important for English Learners. An intimate book club will provide support and understanding for young readers.
