My classroom is full to the brim with 1st-grade learners. We need all the space we can get. Having the storage bins consolidated in one unit will allow me to place more books in the two bookshelves I already have. My students will be more likely to find an engaging book of their choice if they can see the options more clearly on a bookshelf, rather than a box on the floor. Also, the learning tools of writing paper will help my little writers to be better at formulating their ideas using proper penmanship, spacing, and size of letters. They need this specific type of writing since they missed so much of the pencil/paper activities while they were online last year as Kindergarteners. The last larger item was a storage bin unit to help my teacher organize behind my desk. I currently have bins on the floor. It would be so nice to be able to move one unit around as needed. Standard: W.1.2 Write informative/explanatory texts in which they name a topic, supply some facts about the topic, and provide some sense of closure.
