I have chosen to ask for a carpet for my students, so we can sit together comfortably for circle time. Our original carpet was put into storage during the pandemic. Unfortunately, it was irreparably damaged. We are a Title 1 school, and do not have extra funds to replace the damaged carpets. Circle Time creates a sense of community for our youngest students. It is a time to gather together, to share, to learn how to communicate respectfully with your peers. Morning Meeting has been a part of my classroom routine for 21 years. It is how we set the tone for our day. Storytime is also creating a love of reading at a young age. We currently are using taped "x"s on the floor to meet, which is not welcoming or comfortable. Create warm memories of Circle Time for my Kindergarten students to grow up with! Help provide them with a comfortable spot to gather together!
