I work at a school where the majority of the families fall in the low socioeconomic status range. Academics and learning are typically impacted by that status and opportunities are not as widely available as schools in the mid to high SES. I have seen that my students have had negative impact because of this status and it breaks my heart that they haven't had the same opportunities as others. They have been severely impacted by the pandemic, as many of my students didn't have access to the Internet to support online learning as others over the past two years. This interactive whiteboard will help push their learning forward and allow so many new opportunities to lead their learning. I have worked with an interactive whiteboard in the past. Not only have I witnessed firsthand students' confidence and motivation skyrocket, but I have also watched their engagement in their learning grow. My students deserve every opportunity to build more confidence, motivation and increase their engagement in their learning. This interactive whiteboard will allow my students the chance to guide their own learning, take charge of their learning, and show their peers firsthand their knowledge. Speech and Language development isn't just about teaching, it's also about practice, drill, bombardment, and exposure, and this whiteboard will help me increase all of these aspects through technology.
